Review some main phrases we learned in the last class.Step 2  Grammar Focus   Let them read and remember the sentences of the grammar focus by themselves. Step 3  Work on 4a:    Tell Ss to read the sentences in 4a and try to fill in the blanks with unless, as soon as, so…that. 1. ___________ her father died, the stepsisters made her do all the chores.    as soon as;  點(diǎn)撥:分析句子結(jié)構(gòu)可知,后一句繼姐讓她做所有的家務(wù)是主句,上一句她的父親死后應(yīng)是句子的時間狀語。因此,應(yīng)用as soon as 來引導(dǎo)時間狀語從句。 as soon as 意為……,時態(tài)遵循主將從現(xiàn);主過從過的原則。 2. She was ____ busy _____ she had no time to make a dress for the party.     so that; 點(diǎn)撥:分析句意可知所導(dǎo)致的結(jié)果是沒有時間為聚會做一件禮服。     so… that… 意為如此……以至于,常用于結(jié)果狀語從句,表示上文動作所產(chǎn)生的結(jié)果,故空格處應(yīng)用so…that。前后句時態(tài),要保持一致。 3. The mice knew that _______ they helped her make a dress, she would not be able to go to the party.     unless; 點(diǎn)撥:句意公主知道,除非他們幫她做一件禮服,她就會不能去參加那個晚會。可知前一句是后一句的條件。     unless 意為除非;如果不,引導(dǎo)條件狀語從句,相當(dāng)于if條件狀語從句的否定句;時態(tài)遵循主將從現(xiàn);主過從過的原則。 4. ___________ the prince saw her, he fell in love with her.    as soon as;點(diǎn)撥:句意王子一看到她,就愛上了她,可知上一句應(yīng)為一時間狀語從句,故應(yīng)用as soon as來引導(dǎo), 表示……之意。 5. The prince knew ______ the girl's foot could fit the shoe, it was not the right girl. [來源:學(xué)科網(wǎng)]    unless; 點(diǎn)撥:句意王子知道,除非女孩的腳與鞋子合適,否則就不是他要的女孩,可知上下句之間存在條件關(guān)系 故應(yīng)用unless一詞。6. The new couple were _____ happy ______ they couldn't stop smiling when they got married.     點(diǎn)撥:句意這對新婚夫婦是如此的幸福,以至于他們不停地在笑。,可知上下文之間存在因果關(guān)系,高興的結(jié)果是不停地在笑,故應(yīng)用so…that句式。Step 4  Work on 4b:       Fill in the blanks with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets.    The Monkey King is the main character from the famous Chinese story Journey to the West.
