本課時(shí)學(xué)習(xí)與變化相關(guān)的閱讀理解。教學(xué)時(shí)先從談?wù)摿羰貎和胧郑瑢?dǎo)入新課,再進(jìn)入對課文的閱讀理解。通過完成不同的閱讀任務(wù),讓學(xué)生理解文本內(nèi)容。

通過本課時(shí)的學(xué)習(xí),讓學(xué)生達(dá)成以下目標(biāo):
1.知識目標(biāo)
單詞:seldom, influence, absent, fail, examination, boarding, exactly, pride, proud
短語:take care of, be absent from, in person, even though, take pride in, be proud of
重點(diǎn)句型:It is hard to believe that he used to have difficulties in school.
2.能力目標(biāo)
(1)能夠比較熟練地運(yùn)用英語語音知識朗讀課文;能夠表達(dá)自己現(xiàn)在和過去在外表、性格、愛好等方面的變化。
(2)鍛煉學(xué)生捕捉語篇主題、理解細(xì)節(jié)內(nèi)容并推斷語篇深層含義的能力。

(3)通過快速閱讀語篇,進(jìn)行閱讀策略的訓(xùn)練。
2.難點(diǎn): 根據(jù)上下文和具體語境猜測生詞的含義。

Show a picture of left-behind children and tell them:
Most of us live with parents, but there are some children can’t live with their parents.
Get the students to talk about some of the changes their parents experienced. Use the sentence:

Li Wen: Mom, I thought you didn’t love me anymore. I believed that you forgot me. I misunderstood you and father. Now I understand that even though we can’t always see each other, you’re always thinking of me. I love you!
