Key vocabulary:  relaxed, value, capital, noon, mad...drop by,after all,get mad, make an effort...2. Key sentences:a. Where Im from, were pretty relaxed about time.b. We often just drop by our friends homes if we have time. c. We often just walk around the town center, seeing as many of our friends as we can!d. Its very important to be on time.3.Structures: It'sadj.to do sth.教學難點:Use be supposed to do to express the customs in Colombia and Switzerland.教學過程(表格描述)教學環(huán)節(jié)主要教學活動設置意圖Step 1Warming-up(PPT 3-6)Ask Ss to work in pairs to discuss the ways of greeting in different countries.-What are people in America supposed to do when they meet for the first time?-They’re supposed to shake hands.討論不同國家初次見面打招呼的方式,復習上節(jié)課所學,并引到3a的學習。Step 2Pre-reading(PPT 7-11)  Work on 3a. 1. Help Ss to understand the demand in 3a and learn the names of the two countries and their national flags.2. Ss read the opinions of a Colombian and a Swiss student, then answer the question: In which country is it OK to be 15 minutes late for dinner?3. Check answers in class.通讀全文,提醒學生關注重點短語,然后回答問題了解文章大意。Step 3While-reading(PPT 12-19) Ask Ss to read the passage again and then complete the following tasks:Task 1Listen and answer the questions with yes or no.Task 2a. Answer the following questions.How many big differences are talked about in the two passages? What are they?b. Complete the mind map. Different attitudes towards time.c. Complete the passage from 3a.Check answers one by one.本部分是課文細讀部分。讀完課文完成相應的任務,以檢測對文章細節(jié)的理解。通過問題設計,讓學生帶著問題閱讀,提高他們的英語閱讀能力以及解決問題的能力。Step 4Post- reading(PPT 20-24) Walk on 3b. Read the passage again and complete the chart.Link them into sentences.3. Walk on 3c. Role-play a conversation. Student A is Teresa and Student B is Marc. Teresa is late and Marc is mad.A: Do you have many rules in …?B: No/Yes.A: What about (being on time/visiting friends)?B: … And you?4. Work in pairs and practice how to do in the following same situations.In China, what is supposed to do in these following situations?再讀3a,然后完成3b表格,并練習用 be supposed to do表達各國的見面禮儀。這個輸出過程既讓學生運用所學的句型,又能鞏固本單元的語法。表演3c的對話。 Step 5 Language points   (PPT 25-40)Explain the language points and ask Ss to read them. Point out the usages of the following.1. be relaxed about/at  2. make an effort to do.3. value, drop by,  4.as... as possible/one can通過講解及例句使學生加深對重難點的理解,培養(yǎng)他們的獨立思維能力及這些詞語的運用能力。Step 6Exercises (PPT 41-47) Practice the language points by doing these exercises.通過首字母填空、短語選擇、完成句子等形式練習所學的語言點。Step 7中考鏈接(PPT 48)  Choose the exercise to practice the usage of politely. 本部分設計主要精選politely的中考題,針對九下學生臨近中考,引導學生學習過程中與中考鏈接。Step 8Homework(PPT49)Write a short passage to introduce customs in China, including:being on timevisiting a friend’s housemaking plans with friends設計該作業(yè)主要幫助學生們對課文熟練運用,并從文章中學會用定語從句來描述中國的習俗。板書設計Unit 10 Youre supposed to shake hands.Section A (3a-3c)1.Where Im from, were pretty relaxed about time.2. We often just drop by our friends homes if we have time.3. When we see each other, its polite for boys to shake hands and for girls to kiss each other on the side of the face.4. Its very important to be on time.5.So I make an effort to be on time when I meet my friends.教學反思1. 本節(jié)課是一節(jié)閱讀課,學會表達作者各自國家的見面禮儀和時間觀。2. 通過本節(jié)課學習,引導學生學會與不同國家的人見面的禮儀等。3. 找出文中表達禮儀的句子并分析這些句子。
