Discuss the language points.
?。?)spend意為“花費(fèi)”,既可以指花費(fèi)時(shí)間,也可以指花費(fèi)金錢(qián)。它的常用結(jié)構(gòu)為“某人+spend(s)+時(shí)間/金錢(qián)+on sth. ”或“某人+spend(s)+時(shí)間/金錢(qián)+doing sth. ”。

?。?)watch sb. /sth. doing sth. 意為“觀看某人/某物正在做某事”;watch sb. /sth. do sth. 意為“觀看某人/某物做/經(jīng)常做某事”。
類(lèi)似的動(dòng)詞還有see,hear,notice(注意)等。

?。?)enjoy后的動(dòng)詞要用-ing形式,即enjoy doing sth.,表示“喜歡做某事;享受做某事所帶來(lái)的愉悅和樂(lè)趣”。

Step 5 Writing
1. Work on 3a.
T:Look at the map of Cindy’s neighborhood in 3a and fill in the blanks.
Answers:library;supermarket;post office,library;park;hotel
2. Ask the students to read the passage aloud for three or five minutes. Then ask some students to retell the passage.
3. Work on 3b.
T:Boys and girls,please draw a map of your neighborhood and write about it with the help of the questions in 3b.
Then ask a student to draw on the blackboard and talk about it.
Step 6 Self Check
1. Complete the passage with the words in the box in Exercise 1.

2. Have the students work in small groups to make sentences using “there is/are”. Answers will vary.
3. Give the students enough time to make conversations. Then ask some of them to role-play the conversations.
